Miffed is correct the man is a theif. I have known him nearly 10 years and watched how me managed to manipulate the whole English community into thinking he was a saint. I personally know 1 single woman who he conned out of a house and her life saving who is due to retire soon, as a bankrupt. I also know a couple he tricked into buying a house telling them that they would get their tapu. When Aytekin started to suffer finanically, it came out that they did own their property but they did not own the land it was built on, this dispute is on going.
In 2004 Aytekin sold 8 houses that I am aware of, from which he gained in the region of £700,000 in total. The following year he sold another 4 I am aware of, bringing in around £300,000. The question that no-one knows the answer to is where did this £1,000,000 go?? He did not spend it on smart cars as one acusation was, he bought these on hire perchase and did not make any repayments so they were taken back and a new one was used. He did not buy a house, he treated an English lady like a queen and when he had won her confidence promised to build her a new house and moved her out into a new house and moved his family into her old one. She later found out she didnt own her new home and he had gained her house and money. He also never took a day off so did not spend it on holidays. He operated as Niobe Properties, later Polat Insat and Niobe constuction is another name floating around a while. Aitekin Polat goes my a few names , Isac, Aytekin, Aytec.
There were partners in this crime. One being Ali a 28 year old who worked with him, he acted as one face of the business in the office, charming women and eventually taking mortgages out against their properties and leaving them with nothing. Luckily he has suffered a bit, he young wife had a nervous break down and is not mental. There was also a business partner, Mehmet. As shocking as that is to most who new mehmet it is true. He wasa polite and apparently religious man, however he went along with the long con that took place and left Dalyan the day the back made Niobe Properties stop trading. These were the only three people within the business carrying out the con, other employees were not aware.
Polat is back in Dalyan living and working at the Arakan hotel. Having spoken to some locals, Aytekin still has friends in Dalyan because they know that he is able to get British people to hand money over and he knows how to put on a good show and win people over, the local economy is on its knees at the moment and they are clutching at straws. A word of warning though, anyone associating with Polat know what he's done and know his famous moto "English people are stupid", a phrase often banded around by the man when he things English people don't learn any Turkish.
If you want to buy a house go to anyone but this man. He is a great showman, very convincing, he's already saying he's been hard done to by the English and his former employees, who apparently robbed him, although for most parts of the year they didnt see any wages from the man. This man is probably the best con man to have graced Dalyan.
I feel nothing but sorrow for the people who lost out to this man. He is attempting to make a come back and does have people willing to financially back him, i wouldnt give up on getting your money back, there are contracts you can take out in turkey that force him to use any future earnings to settle debts, he could work for another 50 years and never earn a penny. Anyone doing business with him, please don't pay cash, his victims will never see any compensation, also you won't be able to prove you handed over a penny when he robs you.
